Instagram is expanding its School Partnership Program, which already includes almost 17,000 schools.
For schools
- Channels for quick updates to students and parents (only admins can post)
- School Stories and Notes visible to verified students
- Prioritised reporting of safety issues, with status updates
For verified US high school students
- A school banner on the profile
- A Clubs & Teams directory
- A student directory visible only to other students and teen followers they follow back
Why it matters
It's part of Meta's ongoing push on teen safety and a sign Instagram wants to be the main hub for school communities.
