Edits Assistant: Instagram's AI Coach That Reads Your Insights

Instagram started rolling out the Edits assistant to everyone using the Edits app in the US on September 30, 2026.
What it does
The assistant looks at your account's follows, views, retention, likes and shares, combines that with your comments and current trends, and answers questions such as:
- What connected most with my audience this month?
- Why did one reel hold attention and another didn't?
- What should I make next?
It also suggests hooks, captions, scripts and trending audio that fits your niche.
Cost
Free, with a daily prompt limit. Meta says heavier users will be able to unlock more usage with a Meta One subscription.
Our take
Instagram's message is that the assistant does the analysis while the creative decisions stay with you. For smaller creators, a free analyst built into the editor could be really useful.
