Instagram Is Removing Linked Reels Series on October 28

Instagram is removing the feature that let creators link reels together into a series. The change starts on October 28, 2026.
Background
The linking option arrived in August 2025 to help creators build multi-part stories and keep viewers watching. Instagram now says it wants to simplify the Reels experience.
What creators should do
- Mention "Part 2" in captions or pin the series to your profile grid instead.
- Use Highlights or a carousel to point to the next part.
- Watch for new long-form features. Instagram has been testing a "Longform" profile tab.
Will old links break?
Instagram hasn't detailed it, but expect the "next part" buttons to disappear. The reels themselves stay up.
