Instagram Downloader Not Working? 9 Fixes That Actually Help

Most download errors come from a handful of causes. Work through this list from top to bottom.

1. Check the post is public

Open the link in a private/incognito window. If Instagram asks you to log in to see it, it's private or age-restricted.

2. Remove extra text

Paste only the link. If you copied a whole message ("Look at this! https://…"), our tool usually finds the link, but cleaning it helps.

3. Wait a minute

Instagram sometimes slows down many requests from one server. Try again after 60 seconds.

4. The post was deleted

If the link opens a "Sorry, this page isn't available" message, nothing can bring it back.

5. Stories and Highlights

These need a logged-in session. See our honest Story Downloader page.

6. Clear storage

Phones with less than 500 MB free often fail long downloads silently.

7. Update your browser

Old browsers can't handle large MP4 downloads well.

8. Try another network

Some school and office networks block Instagram's video servers.

9. Use the right tool
